Liberty Quartet coming to Moses Lake, Ritzville Sunday

MOSES LAKE — If you are a fan of traditional southern gospel music then don’t make plans for this upcoming Sunday, as Liberty Quartet will be bringing the southern gospel classics of old to Moses Lake and Ritzville.

Liberty’s first scheduled performance will be at 10:45 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Moses Lake, 724 W. Fourth Ave. The group’s second performance is set for 7 p.m. at the Ritzville Menno Mennonite Church, 1378 N. Damon Road.

Liberty is a full-time concert ministry based out of Boise, Idaho featuring Royce Mitchell singing bass, Philip Batton singing tenor, and Doug Wiley and Paul Ellis singing lead and baritone. The group annually travels between 50,000 and 70,000 miles a year doing up to 150 performances in churches, nursing homes, prisons and other ministries. Liberty usually totals two recording projects on an annual basis, with the group performing with popular groups such as the Gaither Vocal Band, Legacy Five, Greater Vision, the Booth Brothers, the Hoppers, the Isaacs, and the Collingsworth Family over the years.

Liberty has also performed at several large conventions across the United States and Canada, such as the Great Western Southern Gospel Fan Festival in California, the Pacific Gospel Music Association in Oregon, and the Gospel Music Fan Festival in Canada.

The group promises that attendees at their concerts will be thoroughly entertained, even if they are not a fan of traditional southern gospel music. Liberty performances are free for the public to attend. An offering is taken in support of their ministry during concerts.
