REQUIREMENTS FOR SPECIALIZED

HAULING VEHICLES (SHVs)

Franklin County is requesting Statements of Qualifications from professional consulting firms (hereinafter called “Consultants”) with expertise in bridge analysis for the purpose of evaluating approximately 91 bridges to determine their safe live load rating carrying capacity for all unrestricted legal loads in accordance with the analysis of Specialized Hauling Vehicles (SHVs) as defined in the AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation (MBE).

The proposed work will include, but is not limited to, indentifying which structures will need to be re-rated for the National Rating Load (NRL) by the end of the year target dates of 2017 and 2022, analysis and re-rate the bridges structure for live load rating using current standards, recommended postings for load restrictions, and knowledge of Washington State Bridge Inventory System (WSBIS) coding. All documentation of updated load rating must be stamped and signed by a Washington State Professional Engineer charged with the overall responsibility for the bridge analysis. The Consultant must have knowledge of WSDOT, FHWA, and ASSHTO standards and requirements for bridge evaluation and inspection.

The deadline for this RFQ is 1:30 PM on Thursday, July 28th, 2016. Earlier responses are welcomed.
