Royal City Hall makes automatic bill pay available

ROYAL CITY — Residents of Royal City will have an easier time paying their utility bills at City Hall.

Finance Director Greg Pike announced at the June 7 meeting of the Royal City Council that the Xpress Billpay system is in place and functioning.

The Public Works department told the Council that a New Badboy mower has been purchased and that the old Ferris mower will be held as surplus.

Public Works director John Lasen told the Council the main line on Daisy Street is complete and work will begin on transferring the service lines. Disinfection has been performed on the main line, and the line has been pressure-tested.

Lasen announced he will be meeting with Dell Boyce to compile a list of materials needed for the repair work on city well No. 1.

City Planner Darryl Piercy told the Council that three building permits were issued in May.

The Council approved a motion to authorize the installation of two handrails at the community center.

A resolution was adopted declaring certain personal property surplus to the needs of the City and directing its disposal in a commercially reasonable manner. Persons interested in surplus equipment may contact the city.

The Council approved a consent agenda that included the Council meeting minutes of May 17, a payroll of $43,434.84 and claims for $62,634.06.
