Donald Ross Johnson

November 19, 1958 – June 24, 2016

Donald Ross Johnson passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on June 24, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his father, Melvin Johnson.

Don was born in Seattle on Nov. 19, 1958 to Melvin Johnson and Mary Lou Johnson. He moved to West Seattle and then to Mercer Island where he graduated from Mercer Island High School. After graduating, Don eventually moved to Redondo Beach, California where he met his wife, Diana L. Johnson, of 26 1/2 yrs. Don and Diana made their home on Camano Island for over 15 yrs before moving to Moses Lake, Wash. Don was a proud father of four children and coached many sports and umpired and refereed just as many as well as playing adult baseball and football. Don worked for Fed-Ex and he loved his bosses, co-workers, and job. In his spare time, he was an Internet DJ for Internet radio stations and he DJed special events. He was an avid Seahawks fan and Mariners fan and he loved the University of Washington Huskies.

Don is survived by his wife Diana; his son Clint and granddaughter Ava; his son Joey and his grandson Carter; his daughter Shelby and his daughter Sierra. He is also survived by his mother Mary Lou, his sister Diane, and his sister Denise and her son Andrew. He also had numerous in-laws, aunts, uncles, and cousins that were left behind.

There will be a funeral and Celebration of Life service on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 724 4th Ave., Moses Lake, Wash. with a reception immediately following the service.
