Jack E. Laursen II, age 44, of Othello, Washington, passed away Jan. 23, 2016. He was born in Othello, Wash. on Dec. 15, 1971. Jack became a quadriplegic at the age of 14. He spent many months at the University of Washington Rehabilitation Center in Seattle, Wash., and then the Seattle Children’s Hospital, before moving to the Othello Convalescent Center in Othello, where he attended Othello High School and graduated with honors.

Jack bought a house in Othello in 1992 with his sister Tammy. He enjoyed taking his cousins JD and Timmy Hedrick to the park, playing on the computer, and supporting the Seahawks. He will be missed.

He was survived by his father, Jack (Kathy) Laursen; his stepbrother Todd Blaak and stepsister Kim Nelson; his mother, Linda “Sue” Laursen; his sister, Tammy Laursen; his niece Tiffany and nephew Manny Martinez, all of Othello, Wash. Jack also left behind numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A viewing will be held from 2 to 5 p.m., Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, at Stevens Funeral Chapel.
