Moses Lake Police Department

Jan. 20

  • Police contacted a wanted man in the 1100 block of North Stratford Road. The suspect claimed he was a twin and officers had the wrong man. Police later learned the suspect was the man they were looking for. Police reportedly found credit cards and an ID card on the suspect that were not in his name.
  • Report of a broken flat screen TV, a mattress, a Walmart shopping cart and miscellaneous garbage dumped along the lake shore.
  • A student at Moses Lake High School was arrested for possession of marijuana and intent to deliver marijuana.
  • A woman reported two passports were stolen from her mailbox in the 600 block of North Crestview Drive on Dec. 26.
  • Report of a found wallet on Road M Northeast. The owner of the wallet was reportedly a victim of a Dec. 16 vehicle prowl.
  • A woman told police her young son thought his brother had broken into a vacant house in the 900 block of West Loop Drive and was living in the house. The house was found to be vacant, secure and empty.
  • A woman reported her former boyfriend sent her harassing text messages.
  • A woman reported a man left notes addressed to her daughter on the steps to her residence in the 500 block of South Ash Street. The daughter advised she was working to obtain a no-contact order against the suspect.
  • A woman told police someone entered her apartment in the 200 block of West Nelson Road and left drugs. Police could not find evidence of entry and neighbors advised no one had entered the apartment. The woman reportedly has a history of mental problems and substance abuse. Police found four syringes containing heroin in the apartment and had them destroyed.

Grant County Sheriff's Office

Jan. 20

  • A man reported a 2005 dark blue Dodge Caravan hit his vehicle in the rear and took off.
  • A woman reported some mail was stolen from her mailbox sometime overnight.
  • A woman reported some fuel was stolen from her vehicle overnight.
  • A man told deputies a vehicle did not stop at a stop sign and almost hit his dog at a high rate of speed.
  • A woman reported a gunshot hit her window.
  • A woman advised her neighbor's pit bulls were on her property and acting aggressive.
  • A woman reported a man asked her and her cousin if they had money because he wanted to buy drugs. The caller said the suspect was "hiding" something in his pocket and followed her and her cousin.
  • A woman told deputies she heard some gunshots fired across the street from her residence.

Ephrata Police Department

Jan. 20

  • Report of a suspicious vehicle in an alley behind the 400 block of Sixth Avenue Southeast. Police could not locate the vehicle.
  • Report of a vehicle fire at Columbia Road and Mocliff Road. A semi-tractor was reportedly fully engulfed in flames, but there were no signs of foul play.
  • Report of an assault in the 400 block of Basin Street Northwest. The victim was contacted, but police could not locate the suspect or witness.
