Alan Carroll Tucker

May 7, 1943 – November 28, 2015

Alan Carroll Tucker passed away Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, at a Boise, Idaho hospital with his family by his side.

He was born May 7, 1943 in Ontario, Ore., to Carroll Darwin Tucker and Deana Gael (Smith) Tucker. He was raised for the most part in Warden, Wash. After high school, he enlisted in the Navy in 1960, serving as a gunner’s mate on the USS. Edson until March of 1964.

He worked as a truck driver for most of his life until retiring in 2005.

He was a son, soldier, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend. To us he was Dad or Grandpa. He always made us feel loved and always told us how much he loved us. He never wanted us to fuss over him but I know he enjoyed it and just liked being with his girls.

We finally convinced him to move to Boise, Idaho, in March 2015. He loved his home in Arlington, Ore., but it was time for him to be closer to his family. After moving, he was always telling everyone that he was going to be a “tater head.” He was a diehard Boise State fan and was always wearing a BSU T-shirt and hat. Even his dog Walter wore a BSU collar and coat.

Alan is survived by his daughters Kara Tucker (Doug) and Stormy Prince (James); his grandchildren Devon and Jenna Prince; the mother of his girls, Bonnie Tucker; his brothers Phil (Sondra), Kent (Cheryl) and Mark (Myrna); several nephews and nieces; and his dog Walter. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

One of his favorite places to go was the Oregon Coast, where we will have a celebration of his life with family and friends in the spring.
