Oregon woman dies in collision near Moses Lake

MOSES LAKE - A 31-year-old woman from Portland, Ore. died in a two vehicle collision near Moses Lake Thursday night.

Tyler Cowdry, 35, of Portland, was driving a 1995 Jeep Cherokee south on Road O Southeast when he reportedly failed to stop at the Road 2 Southeast stop sign. He reportedly went through the intersection and was a hit by a 1992 Dodge Dakota driven by Dillan Leslie, 27, of Moses Lake, according to the Grant County Sheriff's Office.

The 31-year-old woman, whose name was not released, was reportedly sleeping in the back of the Jeep at the time of the collision. The sheriff's office reports that she was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Her body is now in the care of the Grant County Coroner's Office where an autopsy will be performed.

Cowdry was flown to Kadlec Medical Center in Richland for treatment. Leslie was transported to Samaritan Hospital for treatment. The accident is still under investigation.
