Jan. 10

  • Report of two-vehicle, non-injury accident at the intersection of Stratford Road and Valley Road. Drivers of vehicle 1 and vehicle 2 were turning left onto Valley Road when driver of vehicle 2 drifted out of her lane, hitting vehicle 1. Driver of vehicle 2 was cited for improper lane change.
  • Report of two-vehicle, non-injury accident in the 900 block of East Wheeler Road. Drivers of vehicle 1 and vehicle 2 were westbound on Wheeler when driver of vehicle 1 began changing lanes and ran into vehicle 2.
  • Report of check fraud. Victim said he had written a check last July to a local business that was re-cashed in December with another payee. The check was allegedly stolen from the business last week.
  • Report of a juvenile female attempting to steal merchandise from a business at 1005 North Stratford Rd. Subject was cited for theft.
  • A man, no age given, was cited for theft after he allegedly attempted to steal about $93 in merchandise from a business at 1005 North Stratford Rd.
  • A woman, no age given, was cited for theft after allegedly attempting to steal about $30 in merchandise from a business at 1005 North Stratford Rd.
  • Report of assault in the 9000 block of Northeast Kinder Road. Subject assaulted the victim by punching her in the head, but was gone before officers arrived.
  • A juvenile girl was cited for allegedly stealing about $46 of merchandise from a business at 1005 North Stratford Rd.
  • A juvenile male was arrested and booked into Grant County Juvenile on an outstanding warrant after a verbal dispute.
  • A 22-year-old woman was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) following a domestic dispute.
  • Report of vehicle stolen from the park and ride lot at the intersection of SR 17 and I-90. A second vehicle was tampered with. Stolen vehicle was later found abandoned on SR 17.

 

Jan. 11

  • Report of attempted check fraud. The reporting party’s bank contacted him, saying a man had attempted to cash a check on the reporting party’s account but the signatures didn’t match.
  • Report of attempted phone fraud. Reporting party said he received a phone call from a man saying he was attempting to collect a debt. When the reporting asked for more information the caller hung up.
  • Report of disorderly conduct between former boyfriend and girlfriend at Moses Lake High School.
  • A 23-year-old woman was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail for possession of controlled substances, after she allegedly tried to leave a business at 1005 North Stratford Rd. without paying for merchandise.
  • A 33-year-old woman was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail for first-degree trafficking in stolen property, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a dangerous weapon, possession of controlled substances and possession of marijuana. The woman was arrested after she allegedly attempted to sell stolen beauty salon items.
  • Report of credit card fraud. Reporting party said the business became suspicious about an online purchase because he lives in Seattle but the purchases were delivered to Moses Lake. The case is still under investigation.
  • A man was causing a disturbance when his former girlfriend wouldn’t let him in the house in the 1000 block of West Meadow View Drive.
  • Report of a two-vehicle, non-injury accident at a business at 910 West Broadway Ave. Driver of vehicle 1 was backing up and hit vehicle 2, traveling east down West Broadway.
  • Reports of juveniles throwing eggs at houses along Grape Drive and at cars near Park Orchard Elementary, 417 North Paxson Dr.
  • Report of televisions stolen from a business at 1214 South Pioneer Way. Value of the stolen televisions was estimated at $700.
  • Report of attempted theft at a business at 500 South Pioneer Way. Suspect set off theft alarm as he was leaving the store; when employees attempted to contact the suspect he left in a white Kia Spectrum. Suspect is described as a white male in a black jacket and blue jeans.
  • A 20-year-old man was cited for DUI and providing false statements to law enforcement after a traffic stop. His car was impounded.

Grant County Sheriff’s Office

Jan. 10

  • Deputies received a report of a “gangster” ringing a door bell with something in his hand.
  • A female reportedly heard someone trying to open her door.
  • A female reported damage to her vehicle’s rear window.
  • A female reportedly received threats via text.
  • Deputies received a 3rd party report of a suicidal female.
  • The father of a woman’s children was in her residence, throwing things and breaking items, with the children present.
  • A woman reported that there were several dogs on her property, fighting and mating.
  • The window of a female’s van was reportedly broken by someone.
  • A woman reported that her mother’s phone was stolen.
  • A female was reportedly blocked in her house by her mother.
  • A man reported that his garage had been burglarized.
  • A mother reported that a 15-year-old girl wouldn’t leave her 18-year-old son alone.
  • Deputies received a report from a subject reportedly being attacked by their knife-wielding brother.
  • A female was reportedly refusing to leave a residence she had been living in.
  • Deputies received a report of a trespassing hunter in a white Ford pickup.

 

Jan. 11

  • A female’s dog was reportedly attacked by a mixed breed that came onto her property.
  • A man told deputies he’s having a problem with his girlfriend letting people into the residence that he does not want there.
  • A female reportedly had her snowmobile trailer stolen sometime between Dec. 24 and Jan. 4.
  • Deputies received a report of a subject getting into the face of property owners who asked him to leave.
  • A man reportedly had batteries stolen from his camping trailer.
  • A female reported finding a decapitated rabbit on her property. She said she believes it to belong to the neighbors.
  • A female reported being chased by one of two pit bulls running at large.
  • A mother told deputies she wished to press charges on the subject who provided her 12-year-old son with alcohol this weekend.
  • A mother reported her son to deputies for being out past curfew.

Ephrata Police Department

Jan. 10

  • Anthony Garza, 29, of Quincy, was arrested for third-degree malicious mischief domestic violence.
  • Avel Ramirez, 27, of Quincy, was arrested for DUI.
  • Jessica Overmars, 26, of Ephrata, was booked on a King County warrant.
  • Cristian Magana, 26, of Mattawa, was booked on attempted theft of a motor vehicle and two Douglas County warrants.
  • Benjamin Myrick, 36, of Ephrata, was booked on a Department of Corrections warrant and two Grant County Superior Court warrants.
  • Veronica Guinn, 22, of Moses Lake, was booked for fourth-degree assault domestic violence.

 

Jan. 11

  • EPD responded to the 00 block of D Street Northeast for barking dogs. The dogs’ owner brought them inside.
  • EPD conducted a welfare check in the 400 block of Sixth Avenue Southeast. The subject was found deceased. There was no sign of foul play.
  • EPD issued a warning to panhandlers who were reportedly cursing at customers in front of a store in the 1500 block of Nat Washington Way.
  • A found child was returned to his mother.

Jan. 10
