Agnes was born on June 19, 1937 to George and Florence Taylor. She lived on the Colville Indian Reservation and at a young age the family moved to Gifford, Wash. and lived in the mountains. She married Norman Storer in 1954 and they had a son, Gary and daughter, Toni. After getting a divorce in 1969 she moved to Moses Lake with her daughter, Toni. Her son, Gary, was raised by his grandparents, George and Florence. With only $15, a few clothes and an old car, Agnes and Toni made Moses Lake their home. Agnes worked at Jack’s Bargain Barn Snack Shop where she met the love of her life, Ray Lopez. They only knew each other three weeks when they married in 1973 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. With a new life and a new dad, they had their ups and downs, but learned from them. The Lopez apartments were then developed. Ray and Agnes worked side by side. With Mom’s brains and Ray’s labor, they made a happy place to live and grow up.
Her daughter gave her two grandsons, Chester Dallas Ray Hill and Benjamin Ray Hill; also a foster daughter, Marla Sam and granddaughter Jennica, great-grandchildren Mallory Renae Lee Hill and Wesley William Frances Hill. The kids were the love of her life. She is also survived by two brothers, George Taylor and Max Taylor.
Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lopez in 2013; mother and father, George and Florence Taylor; and brother Wesley Taylor.
Agnes loved to teach and was a mentor to all her family; she was their rock and was there whenever she was needed. She always listened to what we had to say and gave her opinion, whether good or bad. This was the way she was. Agnes also loved music and had a radio show in Colville where she played and sang with Daniel Blair and numerous other people. She enjoyed writing music and wrote many songs. Her favorite was “Play a Little Country, It Will Bring You Home”. Her songs would turn the experiences of life, life of family and friends and whatever else came to mind to music.
She was a proud woman, mother and grandma. We love you, Mom! Love your kids, Gary, Toni, Chester, Ben, Mallory, Wesley, Marla and Jennica.
