Michael John Fleming
April 8, 1947 – February 19, 2016
Michael John Fleming, 68, of Moses Lake, Wash., passed away Feb. 19, 2016 at Avalon Care Center in Othello, Wash.
Mike was born April 8, 1947 in Livingston, Mont. to Jack and Maxine Fleming. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and then Park County High School graduating in 1965. He attended Montana State University for two years. Mike’s free time growing up was spent fly-fishing Big Creek in the summers and hunting in the winters with his brother Jack.
Mike enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1967 to “see the world;” unfortunately, the Air Force saw it another way. He spent all four years of his enlistment at Castle Air Force Base in Merced, Calif. It was there that he met and married his first wife Anita, gaining two stepsons, Robbie and Larry, and where his son Mickey was born. After his enlistment was up the family moved to Moses Lake, Wash. where he managed Jewels IGA. Then he drove a delivery truck for Roth’s Distributing and then worked as salesman for Budweiser, and then he delivered milk for a short time until his health forced him into retirement.
He was married to Jean and gained a step-daughter Deborah and finally married Penny and gained two stepsons, Gary and Thad. He remained friends with his ex-wives.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his wife Penny, who died unexpectedly in 2015.
He is survived by his son Mickey (Rebecca) Fleming of Moses Lake, Wash.; stepchildren Robbie (Helen) Hunt of Moses Lake, Wash., Larry (Tammy) Hunt of Morriston Tenn., Deborah Keith of Sandy, Utah, Gary (Nora) Bowman and Thad Bowman of Moses Lake, Wash; grandchildren Samantha, Cheyanna, Nathan, Calub, Sarah-Jane, Lance Derrick, Alisha, Robert, Sara, Thomas, Kameron, Kayleeannna, Khristina, Gary and Jennifer. He is also survived by his brother Jack (Caroline) Fleming of Miles City, Mont.
