Extended thanks

| February 25, 2016 12:45 PM

On Feb. 17, 2016, “Valentines for Veterans: Students spread the love,” an article by Ryan Minnerly, was published in the Columbia Basin Herald. Ryan, I just want to say that you are a very talented writer and did an awesome job depicting the colorful personality and love-infused whirlwind of events that transpired from an early-morning God calling. I am so glad that after numerous requests, and your kind patience, I was able to mix you into my schedule because I have received so many compliments regarding the story, and, well, I can’t help but emphasize the focus on how captivating and well-written your article was.

If anyone out there is struggling in their faith due to events in their personal life, I understand, but let this be a lesson that God does have angels on this earth. God is listening and God does answer prayers. And no matter what, keep your chin up and know that our father God wants us to prosper, to claim victory and to be in peace. Love and forgiveness are gifts to the self. Moses Lake is the heart full of blessings, as evidenced through the faith and obedience that occurred in serving our father, God, this Valentine’s Day.

Thank you, Ryan, for extending the thanks for those who were quick to participate and make this calling a bigger success than imaginable. I guess the saying is true, “Anything is possible with God.” While Mother Teresa says, “I know God won’t give me anything I can’t handle; just sometimes I wish He didn’t trust me so much,” this moment in life gave me a much deeper appreciation of exactly what she meant. Lean not on our own understanding and just have faith that everything will work out.

In further good news, this project is going to be teaming up with a national group that also does projects similar to the Valentines for Veterans. Go big or go bigger! Also, in continued thanks, thank you to the Moses Lake American Legion Post 209 members, Pat Hanford, American Legions Riders director and Carrie McCormick, sergeant-at-arms who are also all veterans and in care helped me, because I received notice that the valentines were successfully sent overseas. Carrie and Pat Hanford also reassured continued assistance is already planned for next year, to also include the seniors in our area, and, well, Valentines for Veterans is now going national. Yeah!

Thank you again, everyone, and extended thank you to everyone for continuing to help with this God calling. God bless Moses Lake! God bless America! God bless this world! Thanks and may God continue to bless you.
