Feb. 12

  • Report of attempted telephone fraud. Reporting party said subject called claiming to be from the Internal Revenue Service, but the victim didn’t provide information or money. Victim said she had been called multiple times from different numbers over the last several days.
  • A 35-year-old man was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail on outstanding warrants for second-degree possession of stolen property, possession of a motor vehicle theft tool, reckless driving and third-degree driving with a suspended license. A 36-year-old man was the suspect in a separate investigation and was arrested and booked on unspecified charges.
  • Report of mail theft. Empty packaging addressed to a recipient in Ohio was recovered from a Dumpster in the 1200 block of South Pioneer Way.
  • Report of vandalism in the 1000 block of West Gem Avenue. Reporting party said unknown subjects had damaged her driver’s side door and passenger side window.
  • A 36-year-old man was arrested after he was searched and was found to be carrying pills and drug paraphernalia.
  • Report of mail theft. Reporting party said post office confirmed the package was delivered but the victim didn’t receive it. Contents valued at about $40.
  • A 32-year-old man was cited for violation of a protection order.
  • A 24-year-old man was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail on outstanding warrants for second-degree burglary, possession of heroin, third-degree theft and first-degree criminal trespassing.
  • A 49-year-old woman was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail on outstanding warrants for third-degree theft and first-degree criminal trespassing.

 

Feb. 13

  • Report of vehicle prowl at the Moses Lake Police Department, 411 South Balsam St. Subject broke into the outside impound and stole items, including evidentiary items, from a car in the impound yard.
  • A man, no age given, was arrested for DUI, and three passengers in the vehicle were arrested for being minors in possession of intoxicants. The driver also was booked into the Grant County Jail on outstanding warrants for third-degree theft and MIP.
  • A 34-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct and for probable cause of charges in a separate case for intimidating a witness.
  • Report of found property in the 2400 block of West Peninsula Drive. Reporting party said a bicycle and scooter were left in the yard.
  • A 37-year-old man was arrested on outstanding felony warrants after an altercation at a business at 980 West Central St.
  • Report of a two-vehicle, non-injury accident at a business at 210 East Third Ave. Driver of vehicle 1 backed into an unoccupied vehicle in the parking lot.
  • A 60-year-old woman was cited for DUI and released to a family members. Her car was towed.
  • A 33-year-old man was arrested for burglary after attempting to steal merchandise from a business at 1005 North Stratford Rd.
  • Report of two-vehicle, hit and run accident at North Stratford Road and SR 17. Driver of vehicle 1 said she was southbound off the SR 17 off ramp and drove straight across Stratford Road, being struck by vehicle 2, which fled the scene. Driver of vehicle 2 was cited for no proof of insurance.
  • Report of possible theft from a business at 944 West Third Ave. Subject ran from the store when contacted by store employees.
  • A 42-year-old man was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail on an outstanding warrant for DUI.
  • A 52-year-old woman was cited for DUI and released after an accident at South Fir Street and West Broadway Avenue.

 

Feb. 14

  • An 18-year-old man was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail on an outstanding Washington Department of Corrections warrant, a 21-year-old man was arrested and booked on an outstanding Yakima County warrant and a 20-year-old man was arrested and booked on an outstanding East Wenatchee warrant. The arrests occurred after a complaint about excessive noise.
  • Report of attempted home entry in the 600 block of South Balsam Street. Reporting party said she found her carport door open, but no damage or signs of entry into the property.
  • A 31-year-old man was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail for possession of heroin, and on outstanding warrants for third degree assault, resisting arrest and possession of controlled substances. The man was the passenger in a car, was recognized by law enforcement and attempted to flee. He allegedly fought with law enforcement officers during the arrest.
  • A 49-year-old man was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail for second-degree malicious mischief after he allegedly threw rocks through the windows of businesses in the area of Third Avenue and Ash Street.
  • Report of a burglary in the 1500 block of North Daniel Street. Reporting party arrived at the residence and found the house had been burglarized, entry gained through the back door. Items of unknown value taken. The case is still under investigation.

 

Feb. 15

  • A 22-year-old man was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail on an outstanding warrant for third-degree driving with a suspended license and a 54-year-old man was arrested and booked on an outstanding warrant for third-degree malicious mischief.
  • Report of a window damaged with a BB gun sometime during the past month at a residence in the 900 block of Edgewater Lane.
  • Report of damage to a vehicle in the 600 block of South Sycamore Lane. Unknown suspects broke the passenger side window on the victim’s truck and stole a half-carton of cigarettes. Damage to the window was estimated at $250.
  • A juvenile boy, no age given, was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail for second-degree burglary and third-degree theft. He allegedly attempted to steal items from a business at 2709 West Broadway Ave.
  • Report of objects stolen from a storage facility in the 600 block of South Chestnut Street.
  • A 12-year-old boy was cited for fourth-degree assault after an altercation in the 1900 block of West Marina Drive.
  • An 11-year-old boy was arrested for second-degree robbery, second-degree assault and fourth-degree assault following an incident on South Jefferson Avenue. The boy allegedly stole merchandise from a business, assaulted one victim and a second victim who attempted to intervene and stole a bicycle belonging to the first victim.
  • A 25-year-old man turned himself in on an outstanding warrant.
  • A man, no age given, was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail on an outstanding WDOC warrant.

Feb. 12

  • Threats were reported at a school. A juvenile who was expelled for pulling the fire alarm was reportedly sending threatening text messages to another student.
  • A fight was reported between two students at Endeavor Middle School.
  • Two people were trespassed from Big Bend Community College.
  • A woman reported that somebody had gone into a back yard and rummaged through a camper.
  • A man reported that somebody had broken into his apartment. No sign of force entry was found but the reporting party thought the intruder must have had a key.
  • A group of five or six vehicles was reported drag-racing.
  • A woman reported that her dog was shot during the night.
  • Two males were reported outside a home whose resident was gone on vacation. One subject was banging on the doors and windows while another was taking parts off a truck in the parking lot.
  • A man reported that his nephew might be suicidal.
  • A man reported he was being followed in his car.
  • A student reported that another student on the bus had threatened to hit her and then pushed her when she tried to move.
  • A woman reported that a female was in her house who had been cut with a knife and was bleeding.
  • A suspicious vehicle was reported outside a store. The vehicle has been there for 30 minutes.
  • A man reported that he had sold a vehicle to somebody else. The buyer never transferred the title and the vehicle was stolen.
  • A truck with a camper was reported as having been parked in an empty lot for several days.

 

Feb. 13

  • A suspicious person was reported in a yard knocking on the doors of the residence and garage.
  • A suspicious vehicle was reported parked in front of a church.
  • Two subjects were reported at the Boys and Girls Club getting loud, one inside and one outside. One of them was asked to leave.
  • Cattle were reported in the roadway on South Frontage Road.
  • A pickup truck was found dumped in a lake.
  • Four-wheelers were reported racing up and down the road. The reporting party advised that a rock had hit his windshield and broken it.
  • A man reported he had sold a laptop to a subject who paid for it with counterfeit money. The seller went to contact the subject and reportedly saw him making fake money on a machine.
  • Money and building materials were reported stolen from a contractor.
  • A pregnant woman reported that her boyfriend had been drinking and punched and kicked her.
  • Tagging was reported on a fence along the highway.
  • A subject was reportedly burning garbage in their back yard.

 

Feb. 14

  • An intoxicated male was reported in a front yard. The resident opened the door and the subject left.
  • Gunshots were reported.
  • Somebody reported that their neighbor was in a parked vehicle intoxicated.
  • A male subject was reported walking around banging on doors and trying to kick one in.
  • A woman reported that her neighbors shot her dog in the eye.
  • A woman reported that her neighbor had dumped a TV in front of her house.
  • A woman reported that somebody had tried to break into her father’s trailer overnight, using a 2x4 in their attempt to break in the door.
  • A male was reported lying in the road.
  • A man reported he had swerved to miss a deer and instead struck a pole.
  • A 9-year-old boy reportedly punched holes in walls and hit his 3-year-old sibling.
  • Two males were reported in a yard physically fighting.

 

Feb. 15

  • A man reported that someone had broken into his shop at some time in the recent past. Two chainsaws, a pressure washer and other items were stolen.
  • A woman reported that her dog had been run over by a light brown pickup on Orchard Drive.
  • Several mail thefts were reported.
  • A woman reported that her son took a baseball bat to her vehicle because she would not give him his knife.
  • An out-of-control juvenile was reported egging apartments.
  • A cement truck was reportedly rolled over.
  • A male subject with a high-powered rifle was reported to be shooting through a parking lot.
  • A drone was reported hovering over a horse pasture scaring the horses.
  • A male was reportedly left by his mother at an RV park. He had no food and was reportedly scaring other tenants.
  • A male came to a house trying to sell a carpet cleaner.
  • A female reported hearing “gang whistles,” then someone shouting, “Vato, get over here, I’m going to kill you.”

  • Michael Yancey, 35, of Moses Lake, was arrested and booked on a Department of Corrections warrant.
  • Giovani Aguirre, 25, of Othello, was booked on two Grant County District Court warrants.
  • Betsy Peraza, 34, of Quincy, was arrested and booked on two GCDC warrants and a Douglas County warrant.
