Margaret was born to Juan Diaz and Tomasa Lara Diaz in Worland Wyo. Her family moved to Wapato, Wash. in her youth. She graduated from WHS in 1953. She worked for DSHS in Yakima until her marriage in 1960 to Robert A. Perez and relocated to Moses Lake, Wash. They had four children: Debra (Dusty) Lane of Bothell Wash., Robert Andrew Perez Jr. (deceased 1992), John David Perez of St. Helens Ore. and Joseph Mark Perez of Seattle, Wash. They divorced in 1982.

Margaret was an active member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church until her move to Bothell in 2013 to be near her children. She was also active in Allied Arts and the Red Hats Society. Her career included positions as a Legal Secretary to local attorneys and as Executive Secretary for the City of Moses Lake under multiple city managers. Her hobbies over the years included crocheting and needlework and gardening. She was a very talented seamstress. Margaret loved cheering on the Mariners and Seahawks and enjoyed watching the games with family. She could usually be seen wearing a hat in every season. Margaret will be remembered as a strong and generous person and she always said she was happiest when surrounded by her children and her grandchildren: Nicole Lane, Jonathan Pipkin, Adam Lane and Megan Pipkin all from the Seattle area. She is also survived by siblings: brother-in-law Tony Cardenas of Moses Lake, Louis Diaz of Yakima, Felix (Yolanda) Diaz of Mount Vernon, Esther (Roy) Fann of Wapato, Monica (Ricardo) Garcia of Wapato, Rachel (Joe) Molano of Union Gap and Jesse (Sharon) Diaz of Puyallup. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins.

A life well lived and well loved.
