Ephrata Police Department

Feb. 3

  • A woman contacted police stating a person was in her backyard in the 100 block of D Street Northeast.
  • A woman told police she gave her vehicle to a person to install a new stereo and the suspect never returned her vehicle.
  • Report of a suspicious man running in an alley behind the 200 block of D Street Northwest toward Ephrata High School. A woman reported seeing a man run north in the alley and hearing a loud "bang." Police could not locate the suspect.
  • Report of a past burglary in the 2200 block of Basin Street Southwest.

Moses Lake Police Department

Feb. 3

  • An employee at the Moses Lake Food Bank reported receiving threats from a male subject who was working off community service hours. The victim did not want to press charges and the food bank requested the subject be trespassed from the business when contacted.
  • Three students at Moses Lake High School were reportedly caught smoking marijuana in the 400 block of Sharon Avenue. The students were taken into custody and released to their parents. Charges are going to be filed for possession of marijuana under 40 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Report of cash and a mailbox key stolen from a vehicle in the 900 block of North Grape Drive.
  • Two juveniles were caught shoplifting from Walmart.
  • A woman reportedly loaded her cart with various items at Walmart and proceeded to customer service where she cashed a check. After cashing the check she left the store without paying for the items in her cart. The woman was cited, trespassed from the store and released from the scene.
  • A man was arrested for fourth-degree assault after reportedly getting into an argument with a woman and grabbing her arm while she was holding an infant. The victim said she believed the man was trying to pull her to the ground and police reportedly observed marks on her bicep.
  • A man reportedly attempted to make a U-turn in the 1300 block of Shaker Place and collided with a community mailbox stand on a sidewalk. The man was reportedly learning to drive on an instruction permit.
  • Report of a bicycle stolen from behind a business in the 800 block of North Stratford Road on Tuesday.
  • A woman reportedly entered a business in the 800 block of West Third Avenue and told people she had been assaulted. The suspect became confrontational and a woman in the business took her down and retrained her. Police arrived and the woman was escorted out of the building. The woman was reportedly later seen at Samaritan Hospital for a possible head injury and intoxication.
  • Report of a man urinating outside in the 600 block of North Stratford Road. The man was gone when police arrived at the scene.
  • A girl was arrested for allegedly attempting to stab her sister during an argument.

Grant County Sheriff's Office

Feb. 3

  • A woman reported her husband punched her in the face.
  • Report of a man sitting on the side of a road staring at a residence and taking pictures of cars at the residence.
  • A woman told police she looked out of her window and heard a loud "bang."
  • An anonymous person told deputies they were jogging with a friend and six dogs came out of a trailer park and ran after them.
  • A woman reported hearing what sounded like a gunshot. She said she saw her brother-in-law's car on a road and someone stuck their head out of a window in the car and cussed at her.
  • A woman reported seeing a man hiding in some bushes. She said the man took off when she saw him.
  • A man told deputies a dog almost bit his children.
  • A man reported seeing a subject possibly go through some mailboxes.
