Unattached swimmer Eric Kemper solid in Ellensburg

ELLENSBURG— After coming off a great meet in Federal Way two weeks ago, unattached USA swimmer Eric Kemper traveled to Ellensburg for the Winter Open swim meet hosted by Tri-Cities Channel Cats.

Kemper placed in the top six of all 10 events that he participated in during the two-day meet. He also swam for a few best times.

Kemper took second place in four of his events; in the 100 backstroke, 100 butterfly, 200 backstroke for a best time of 2 minutes, 16.85 seconds. He was able to also take second in the 200 butterfly, shaving off a little time for a best time of 2 minutes, 10.36 seconds.

Kemper placed third in four of his events; the 200 individual medley, 100 breaststroke, 50 freestyle, and the 400 individual medley which was his strongest swim of the whole meet with a 4.4-second drop for a best time of 4 minutes, 48.73 seconds.

Kemper placed fourth in the 100 freestyle and sixth in the 200 breaststroke.

Kemper will have a month to train for the Inland Empire Championship meet that will be help here in Moses Lake at the MLHS pool Feb. 26-28.
