Polar Bear Plunge set for Saturday

| December 30, 2016 12:00 AM

MOSES LAKE — Weather forecasts put Saturday’s noon temperature in the mid to upper 20s. As cold as it may be above the surface on Saturday; the frigid waters of Moses Lake will no doubt be just as bitterly unforgiving. A brave few will be braving those elements to raise funds for the Grant County Animal Outreach during the annual Polar Bear Plunge.

The event is scheduled for noon Saturday at Cascade Park in Moses Lake, 2001 W. Valley Rd. The GCAO will be raffling a gift basket at the event. Every donation of cash or goods gets the person making the donation a raffle ticket. Organizers state that if $2,017 in donations is raised, the president of the GCAO will take a dip in the lake. Hot chocolate, coffee and cookies will be provided to help people warm up after going into the water.

For more information on the event contact the GCAO at 509-762-9616.
