Dec. 23

A woman, no age given, was arrested for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and third-degree malicious mischief (domestic violence).

Report of two-vehicle, non-injury accident in the 1400 block of Northeast Nelson Road. Driver of vehicle 1 rear-ended vehicle 2 when driver of vehicle 2 slowed down due to an animal near the road.

Report of attempt to pass a counterfeit bill at a business at 1005 North Stratford Rd. The subject said he didn't know the bill was fake and gave the business a real $20.

Report of possible mail theft in the 1200 block of West Ivy Avenue. Reporting party said she saw a woman get out of a truck and start opening mailboxes.

Report of a one-vehicle accident at East Wheeler Road and South Canterbury Lane. Driver of vehicle 1 hit a deer.

Report of theft in the parking lot of a business at 1201 South Pioneer Way. Victim said unknown suspects broke into her car and stole a backpack, which contained identification, an undisclosed amount of cash and a phone.

Dec. 24

Report of a fight at a business at 1165 North Stratford Rd. Three victims were assaulted but refused to press charges. One of the victims, a 20-year-old man, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

A 33-year-old man was cited for DUI. His vehicle was towed.

Report of theft from a residence in the 1500 block of North Buell Drive. Reporting party said an unknown suspect was dancing in his yard, then stole a lighted Christmas decoration, approximate value $15. The suspect was described as a male wearing a black beanie, gray jacket and baggy athletic pants.

A 24-year-old woman was cited for second-degree vehicle prowl after she was discovered sleeping in a camper in the 1000 block of West Kristine Street. 

Report of an assault on West Broadway Avenue. Victim said he was walking down the street when a 46-year-old man walked up to him, made a few statements and hit him.

A 46-year-old man was arrested for burglary and third-degree theft.

Report of vehicle prowl in the 1300 block of South Skyline Drive. Reporting party said someone had stolen his license plate.

Report of suspicious circumstances. Subject told officers he was a prophet and wanted to go jail. He changed his mind when police officers told him the only way to go to jail was to commit a felony; the subject said he didn't want to do that due to the possibility he could end up in prison.

Report of a ATV stolen from a residence in the 1600 block of Park Drive. The vehicle was found at a business at 316 South Pioneer Way, and when police searched the business they found a 48-year-old man with outstanding warrants. He was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail.

A 30-year-old man was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm and driving without a valid driver's license.

Dec. 25

Report of attempted burglary in the 1100 block South Skyline Drive. Police followed footprints to the garage, and found the subject in the house. A 27-year-old man was arrested on outstanding warrants for theft of a motor vehicle, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), third-degree malicious mischief (domestic violence) and interfering with reporting domestic violence.

Report of attempted burglary at a business at 1607 West Broadway Ave. Unknown suspects tampered with the door of a storage unit to gain entry. Nothing was stolen.

Report of burglary at a business at 1511 West Broadway Ave. Victim said unknown suspects had broken in some time in the last week. Evidence suggests several suspects involved and using a vehicle; possibly related to the attempted burglary at 1607 West Broadway Ave.

A 54-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding warrant after verbal and physical altercations at the warming center. Subject was intoxicated.

Dec. 26

Report of vandalism at West Cascade Avenue and C Street. Subject and victim got into a verbal altercation; subject threw a rock at the victim's vehicle and broke the passenger side window.

Report of suspicious activity at East Seventh Avenue and South Division Street. Subjects ran when contacted. A 17-year-old boy was arrested for MIP, second-degree possession of stolen property, making false statements to law enforcement and a confirmed Grant County warrant. A 20-year-old man was cited for MIP.

Report of burglary at a church at 1515 South Division St. Thieves kicked in an interior door, estimated damage $350, and stole a television worth an estimated $700.

Report of vehicle prowl sometime overnight in the 300 block of West Sixth Avenue. Victim said credit cards and ID cards were stolen. Two of the cards had been recovered the previous night when a 17-year-old boy was arrested a few blocks away.

A 34-year-old man was arrested for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).

Report of a license plate stolen from a vehicle parked at a residence in the 1400 block of East Craig Street.

A 30-year-old man was arrested for third-degree malicious mischief (domestic violence), fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and felony harassment.

Grant County Jail

Dec. 26

Pablo Mendoza, Jr., 24, no fixed address, was booked into the Grant County Jail on an outstanding Grant County District Court warrant for DUI and third-degree theft, and on an outstanding Washington Department of Corrections warrant.

Maria Gonzales, 44, no address given, was booked for fourth-degree assault.

Derreck Hearn, 28, Moses Lake, turned himself in to serve a 15-day sentence for DUI.

William Green, 30, Spokane, was booked for third-degree malicious mischief (domestic violence), fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and felony harassment.

Anthony Johnson, 29, Moses Lake, was booked for five counts of second-degree burglary, five counts of second-degree theft, six counts of third-degree malicious mischief and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Alyeana Caldwell, 21, Grand Coulee, was booked for an outstanding Grant County Superior Court warrant for possession of methamphetamine.

Dec. 27

Leslie Silva Diaz, 25, Quincy, was booked for possession of methamphetamine.
