Royal High School names November students of month
ROYAY CITY — Marcos Espino, Jessica Arellano Sandoval, Areli Camacho Candido and Jessica Ventura Martinez have been named the November students of the month for Royal High School.
Students of the month are chosen by the educational staff from a list of nominations developed by Counselor Jennifer McCoy. The nominations are based on several personal traits such as citizenship and academics.
McCoy’s reasons for nominating the freshman Espino were “Very bright student, good kid, hard worker.
Espino is the son of Marcos A. Espino and Aide Espino. It is his father who inspires him, for being hard-working and honest.
Espino’s favorite movie is “The Martian.” He favors the TV show “Rick and Morty”, and he loves to eat fried chicken.
The sophomore Arellano Sandoval was nominated for “academic achievement, great attitude and always participates.”
Arellano Sandoval is the daughter of Jessica Sandoval and Jesus Arellano. His favorite movie is “The Age of Adeline”, and his top TV show is “Criminal Minds”.
Arellano Sandoval’s favorite activities are star gazing, reading and volleyball.
Camacho Candido, chosen the junior SOM, caught McCoy’s attention with her “Academic improvement, positive attitude.
Camacho Candido is the daughter of Maria E. Camacho. She has a favorite movie, “Ponyo”, and a favorite song, “Sweet tooth by Inbirth.” She likes doing photography and watching animals.
Camacho Candido particularly likes the phrase “Can you remember who you were before the world told who you should be?” Her advice to others: “The moment you think of giving up, remember why you held on so long.”
McCoy recommended the senior Ventura Martinez because of “class participation, starting to open up in class.” She is the daughter of Alejandra M. Ventura.
Ventura Martinez’s favorite movie is “Spirited Hiway”, and her favored television program is “Por Ella Soy Eva” Her favorite son is “The Eye” by Infinite
Ventura Martinez’s favorite food is enchiladas. She enjoys drawing and listening to music.
