| December 23, 2016 2:00 AM

October 14, 1949 – December 15, 2016

Randy was born Oct. 14, 1949 in Longview, Wash. to Chuck and Virginia Wiley Robinson. The family moved to Moses Lake in 1951, where they were one of the first families to settle in Block 40 and turn the sagebrush into a productive farm.

After graduating from Moses Lake High School, Randy joined the Army and served with honor as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam, receiving two Distinguished Flying Cross medals for acts of heroism. Randy later served four years in the Coast Guard as a helicopter rescue pilot before returning to civilian life.

Randy worked at Specialty Welding since 1999 in many positions, most currently as the estimator for the company.

Randy was a creative and skillful craftsman. He designed and created wonderful things working with metal and wood. His lifelong hobby of restoring antique cars produced many fine automobiles.

Possessing a sharp wit, Randy will be remembered for his great sense of humor and being a strong, kind, loving and generous person. He could fix anything that was broken. He loved his family above all else; next was his Harley. He will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved him.

Randy died unexpectedly Dec. 15 in Moses Lake. He is survived by his wife Kris; his daughters Leah (husband Greg) and Katy; his son Scott; his stepsons Jesse, Dylan (wife Belen) and Jordan; his grandchildren Oren, Mayzee, and Clara and his sister Vickie. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Jon. At his request, no service will be held.
