November 1, 1934 – December 13, 2016

Cleone Agnes Mikkelson (Steichen, Lien) passed from this life on Dec. 13, 2016 at the age of 82. Cleo was raised in Minnesota and lived in the Seattle area and Moses Lake for approximately 45 years. She also lived in Arizona for 17 years. Cleo loved interacting with people – spending time with others was what she loved to do. She was involved in many clubs and organizations. Cleo was quick with a smile, always looking for ways to assist others, and was ready to offer help. Cleo was notorious for tearing out articles to pass along to friends and family with the latest information to cure their ailments. She spent most of her career working in school districts. Cleo was a devout Catholic and most recently attended St. Thomas More in Mountlake Terrace.

Cleo was married to John Lien for 17 years and had five children together. After their divorce she was married to Nels Mikkelson for 35 years. She is survived by her five children: Garth (Shannon) Lien, Kristen (Bob) McKellar, Joan (Bob) Whittington, Karen (Rupert) Wheeler and Kyran Lien. She also leaves behind her brother Paul (Margaret) Steichen, 13 grandchildren, one great-grandson, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She had the ability to interact with multiple generations and will be missed by loved ones.

A memorial service for our mom will be held in January at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, followed by burial at Holyrood Cemetery. Contact one of the family members for details.
