| December 20, 2016 2:00 AM

MOSES LAKE — Two boys were arrested Monday morning after reportedly stealing a car from in front of a home.

About 5 a.m. the owner of the stolen vehicle contacted MACC Dispatch after his 1996 Honda Accord was stolen from his home in the 4800 block of Airway Drive Northeast, according to Grant County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Kyle Foreman.

A deputy later spotted the Accord near Grape Drive and Beacon Road. Deputies followed the vehicle for about a mile and attempted to perform a traffic stop. The driver of the Honda sped up and ended up sliding on some ice and striking a parked pickup truck in the 9100 block of Space Street.

The two suspects fled the crashed vehicle on foot, but were taken into custody by deputies and officers with the Moses Lake Police Department after a foot pursuit through a snow-covered field. The boys were arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and theft of a motor vehicle.
