MOSES LAKE — A Moses Lake man was sentenced in connection with a raid at a Moses Lake residence that turned up a large amount of drugs, ammunition and a gun.

Sebastian Hester, 24, of Moses Lake, pleaded guilty to first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of methamphetamine with intent to manufacture/deliver in Grant County Superior Court. Hester has previous convictions for second-degree assault in Lewis County in 2010, second-degree assault in Grant County in 2009, and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm in Grant County in 2008. The standard sentencing range for the unlawful possession of a firearm charge is 31-41 months. The meth charge has a standard sentencing range of 20-60 months. Grant County Superior Court Judge John Knodell followed a joint recommendation between Deputy Prosecutor Kevin McCrae and defense attorney Michael Morgan and sentenced Hester to 31 months in prison.

On July 13, the Moses Lake Police Department received a search warrant for a residence in the 2600 block of West Wall Street, as well as a Honda Accord, in connection with a drug investigation. The warrant was carried out the next day and when police went inside the Wall Street residence they recovered a .40 caliber pistol next to a couch in the living room.

In addition to the gun, officers recovered the following drugs and evidence inside the house:

• Large “chunks” of meth on a kitchen table in a sandwich bag, which was inside another sandwich bag along with marijuana, heroin and white pills.

• A ball of heroin in a blue container.

• A gray digital scale in a brown basket, which matched the description of a scale seen by a confidential information that was used during controlled drug buys.

• Seventeen plastic baggies in the brown basket.

• Miscellaneous drug paraphernalia in the brown basket.

• A Ruger. 22 caliber 10-round magazine with ammunition in a backpack.

• A torn up grocery bag with drugs from controlled buys in a side pocket of the backpack.

• Suboxone, a prescribed narcotic, in a rubber box.

• A brown “semi-glass” like substance in a plastic container.

• A buy/sell record next to the pistol.

• A blue container with a large amount of marijuana.

• Ruger .22 caliber ammunition in a rifle magazine in a closet in Hester’s bedroom.

• A black garbage bag containing marijuana in Hester’s bedroom.

• A white grocery bag containing 83 grams of marijuana in Hester’s bedroom.

• A handgun magazine in a tactical bag in a hall closet.

• A .22 caliber ammunition in a 500-count ammunition box in a hall closet.

Hester’s co-defendant, Karlianne Senn, 34, of Moses Lake, was taken into custody at the scene as well. She is currently facing a charge of possession of meth with intent to manufacture/deliver in connection with the case. Hester and Senn are both facing charges of forgery in connection with a separate case in Moses Lake, in which they reportedly used fake bills at several different businesses in the Moses Lake area.
