| December 15, 2016 9:04 AM

WENATCHEE — Moses Lake School District superintendent Michelle Price was hired as the superintendent of the North Central Education Service District. Price will take over the job in July 2017.

Price will replace Rich McBride, who announced his retirement earlier this year.

The selection was unanimous, according to an North Central ESD press release. “Michelle is keenly aware of the services the ESD provides, has worked with ESD staff and is recognized as a leader among the other 29 school districts served by the ESD,” wrote ESD board vice-chair Harlan Warner.

Price called the job “an honor and a privilege.” She has been district superintendent since 2009 and was assistant superintendent from 2002 to 2009. Prior to that she was a teacher and administrator in Moses Lake and a teacher in Soap Lake and Tacoma. She is a graduate of Moses Lake High School.
