| December 14, 2016 2:00 AM

CONNELL — Two men, one from Warden, were cited for driving in the wrong direction after a collision near Connell Tuesday morning.

About 8:55 a.m. Gustavo Lopez Macio, 48, of Warden, was driving a 2014 Kenworth construction truck with a trailer west on state Route 260, about one mile west of Connell, when he reportedly crossed the centerline and went into the eastbound lane. A 2012 Audi A4 driven by Bobby Weaver, 82, of Connell, that was heading east on SR-260 crossed the centerline into the westbound lane to avoid hitting the Kenworth truck. The Kenworth then crossed back into the westbound lane and struck the Audi, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Weaver was injured and transported to Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco for treatment. The patrol reports that both Lopez Macio and Weaver were cited for driving the wrong way.
