MOSES LAKE — The Grant County Republican Party (GCRP) has a new chair, as the nod was given to Almira native Danny Stone during the GCRP’s biennial organizational meeting in Moses Lake on Saturday.

In addition to the election of Stone, the GCRP elected new officers, adopted new by-laws and talked over the upcoming year.

“The attendance was good and excitement high over the election of Donald Trump and returning a majority in both the House of Representatives and the Senate,” GCRP Media Chair Ann Mix stated.

New GCRP officers include:

• Vice-chair – Barbara Morgan

• Secretary – Pete Knittle

• Treasurer – Raeanne Journey

• State committeeman – Rick Heiberg

• State committeewoman – Candy Erickson

• Commissioner District No. 1 Chair – Brent Bishop

• Commissioner District No. 2 Chair – Arlin Hope

• Commissioner District No. 2 Chair – Kenneth Jorgensen

• 13th Legislative District Chair – Mark Roylance

• 12th Legislative District Chair – Jesse Seibert

“For a long time, as a constitutional conservative, I just didn’t know how to get involved,” Stone said. “And I’m sure there are many in our county who are in the same boat. As a county party, I really hope we can be more and more innovative in finding ways to encourage grassroots participation and growth in the conservative movement of our county.”

The GCRP holds regular meetings and usually gets together in the Public Works Building in Ephrata. For more information visit www.grantcountygop.com.
