Nominations sought for processed pear board

YAKIMA — Nominations will be accepted Dec. 5 for two positions on the Processed Pear Committee, one for growers, one for processors.

The committee “was established to administer federal marketing order provisions relating to the handling of pears for processing,” according to a press release from the committee.

Nominations will be accepted during the annual meeting of the Washington State Tree Fruit Association, scheduled for the Wenatchee Convention Center.

The grower position currently is held by Ron Ball; the first alternate is vacant, with the second held by Bob Ball. The handler position currently is held by Dan Kenoyer, and both alternate positions are vacant.

Terms last two years and begin July 1.
