Cole Alan Melcher was born Aug. 1, 2008 in Kennewick, Wash. and passed away on Aug. 24, 2016 at Lind, Wash. at the age of 8 years. He was born to Rodney and Jani Melcher of Lind. He is survived by his parents, and sister, Alexis at the home; grandparents Gorden and Alice Melcher of Moses Lake; uncles Jeffrey (Heather) Melcher of Ritzville, Jay (Joan) Henckel of Kennewick, Joel (Stephanie) Henckel of Bothel and Judson Henckel of Seattle; great-grandparents Bill and Anna Oord of Sunnyside; cousins Nathan and John Melcher, Mathew, Luke, Anna, and Katie Henckel and numerous great-uncles and aunts. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Althea Henckel.

Cole was an energetic little boy who looked forward to the first day of school Aug. 29, 2016 in the second grade at Lind Elementary School. He was a little farmer at heart and loved playing with his John Deere and Case I-H toys. He never missed a Sunday at Sunday School and learned to love his Lord Jesus. Heaven has gained a little angel and we will miss him forever.

Services were held at Zion-Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Odessa, Saturday and burial was at the Lind cemetery. Memorials may be made to any Columbia Bank in memory of Cole Melcher to purchase playground equipment or books for Lind Elementary Grade School. Danekas Funeral Home is caring for the family.
