Moses Lake contestant first runner-up in DYW program Elisabeth Barlow wins $1,000 scholarship
PULLMAN — Elisabeth Barlow of Moses Lake earned first runner-up honors at the annual Washington Distinguished Young Woman program Aug. 6.
Elisabeth won a $1,000 scholarship as first runner-up and won $150 awards in the Fitness, Talent and Self-Expression categories. She will be a senior at Moses Lake High School; her parents are Brian and Esther Barlow.
Tessa Jantz, Ritzville, won a $150 interview award. She is the daughter of Donna Koch and Steve Jantz.
Kendyl Druffel, representing Colton-Uniontown, was the program winner. She will represent Washington at the national DYW program in Mobile, Ala., next summer.
Fifteen girls from around the state participated in the pageant. Columbia Basin competitors included Ellie Thyssen, Warden; Wyndolin Rivera, Othello and Kamilah Stone, Almira-Coulee/Hartline.
