Adele Richards Salisbury

Adele Richards Salisbury passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, after a valiant 15-year battle with Parkinson’s disease. A nine-year resident of Eltopia, Wash, and formerly of Othello, Adele was 82.

She was born on Oct. 30, 1933, in Mendon, Utah, to Mahonri and Arva Richards. After graduating from high school, Adele moved to Logan, Utah, and attended Utah State University. She was also a special student of the institute program at Utah State University.

George LaMar Salisbury married Adele in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan, Utah Temple on November 16, 1962. During their 42-year marriage, they developed five units in the Columbia Basin, as well as four daughters: Debbie came along in 1963, Janet in 1965, Lanette in 1968, and Carol in 1973. They raised their family in Othello, Wash.

Adele enjoyed genealogy, preparing family histories and crocheting, and was happiest in the service of her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Adele found her truest joy in her posterity.

Survivors include her three sisters Cleon (Joe) Parkinson, Ogden, Utah, Devon Chambers, Eden, Utah and Vonda Pickett, Centerfield, Utah; her four daughters Debbie (Rusty) Taylor, Cedar City, Utah, Janet (Brett) Bergeson, Moses Lake, Wash., Lanette (Don) Saetre, McKinney, Texas and Carol (Gary) Hoskins, Eltopia, Wash.; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Private family services were held Saturday, August 6, 2016. Interment was at Guarding Angels Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Kayser’s Chapel of Memories. Please sign the online guestbook at www.kayserschapel.com.
