Mattawa man dies in crash

MATTAWA — A 29 year old Mattawa man died Saturday evening in a single vehicle crash near Mattawa, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
Abad F. Garcia Santiago was driving a 1999 Dodge pickup west on Road 26 SW near Road R SW at around 7:15 p.m. when the truck left the roadway and drove a short distance in a ditch.
Garcia Santiago overcorrected, causing the truck to come back onto the road and roll onto its passenger side. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected. He died at the scene.
His body was placed in the care of Grant County Coroner Craig Morrison. It’s unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in this collision.
