Lois (Jean) Nelson

Lois (Jean) Nelson, longtime Moses Lake resident went home with the Lord 9:04 p.m., July 28, 2016.
Jean was born on Jan. 8, 1928 to Frank and Irene Shuck in Seattle, Wash. Growing up she and her family lived in several different places. Jean finished high school in Drummond, Mont., where she graduated in 1946. Jean married Pat Dooley Nov. 27, 1947. Pat passed four months later in a construction accident. Jean married Albert Nelson on Jan. 8, 1949. They moved to Moses Lake in 1952. Together they had six children.
Jean had several occupations, Jean and Al owned and ran the Phillips 66 station on Valley Road from 1960 to 1970. Jean worked in several potato processing plants, mostly in the labs, and also worked for U&I sugar in the research lab until closing. Jean then went back to school at BBCC for two years and earned a degree in computers. Jean then went to work at ITI in the lab, until they closed. Jean then went to work at Basic American Foods in the lab until retirement. Jean enjoyed camping in Elk City, Idaho, fishing, gardening and playing cards. Jean was a dedicated member of the Immanuel Lutheran church.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Albert (Al) Nelson Sr., son Albert Nelson Jr., great-grandson James Gregersen and her parents.
Jean is survived by son John and Jude Nelson of North Palmer, New Zealand; son Wesley and Bobbie Nelson of Pasco, Wash; son Darryl Nelson of Townsend, Mont; son Ray and Donna Nelson of Moses Lake, Wash; son Jay and Janet Nelson of Moses Lake, Wash; daughter-in-law Carol Nelson of Port Orchard, Wash.; sister Bev Gregor of Helena, Mont.; sister in-law Joyce Pleugh of Bonney Lake, Wash.; brother-in-law Wesley and Marry Crago of Yakima, Wash. and 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren,
Viewing will be at Kayser’s Chapel from 4 p.m. till 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4. Services will be Friday, Aug. 5 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
