NOTICE OF PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY

GRANT COUNTY, WASHINGTON

TUESDAY, MAY 24, 2016

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in Grant County, State of Washington, there will be held a Presidential Primary Election for the purpose of submitting to the voters, Nominees for President of the United States for their approval or rejection of the following:

DEMOCRATIC PARTY

Hillary Clinton - 4 Year Term

Bernie Sanders - 4 Year Term

REPUBLICAN PARTY

Ben Carson - 4 Year Term

Ted Cruz - 4 Year Term

John R. Kasich - 4 Year Term

Donald J. Trump - 4 Year Term

Please note that Ben Carson did withdraw from the race for President, but he did not do it in writing in time to have his name removed from the ballot.

For this election, you will declare whether you are voting Democrat or Republican, you will sign a political party declaration on the ballot return envelope. The declaration signed must match your voted candidate's political party. For the Presidential Primary ONLY, the major political

parties require voters to subscribe to a specific party declaration. For the General Election in November 2016, you will be able to vote for either Democrat or Republican.

The registration deadline for online registrations, mail-in registrations and transfers is April 25, 2016. Any qualified elector who is not registered to vote in the State of Washington may register to vote in person at the Election's office up to and including May 16, 2016.

You can register or obtain registration forms at the County Election's office, on our website at: www.grantcountywa.gov, select Elections and then MyVote and the Department of Licensing.

The Grant County Election's office, 35 C St. NW, Room 203, at the County Courthouse, is where voters may obtain replacement ballots, drop off voted ballots, or obtain provisional ballots. Also available to the public is the DAU's or Disability Access Unit, which provide voters with disabilities an equal opportunity to vote independently and privately. Voters needing additional information or assistance with voter registration forms or voting may call (509) 754-2011, Ext. 2777, 2743 or 2793.

You may bring your voted ballot in person to the Grant County Election's office, Room 203, at the County Courthouse during regular business hour; Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. On Election Day, May 24, 2016 the hours will be 7:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M.

The following designated drive-up ballot drop site locations available May 6th, 2016 through May 24th, 2016 at 8:00 A.M.:

Grant County Courthouse, Public Parking Lot #A. Ephrata,

Grant County PUD, 555 Grand Coulee Ave., Grand Coulee,

Moses Lake City Hall, 321 S. Balsam St., Moses Lake,

Fire District #10 Fire Hall, 588 Camelia St., Royal City and

Quincy Public Library, 208 Central Ave. S., Quincy

If you are mailing your ballot, each ballot requires sufficient first class postage and must be postmarked by the day of the election. Check with your local Post Office for deadlines to have your ballot postmarked properly. No stamp is needed for drop box locations. All drop boxes will be sealed at 8:00 P.M. on Election Day.

The following public meetings will be held in conjunction with the processing and tabulation of election returns for the Presidential Primary Election to be held on May 24, 2016, in Grant County, Washington. The times and locations and purpose of each meeting are:

May 9, 2016 - June 7, 2016 10:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. (Extended Hours, if necessary); Processing of Mail Ballots, checking signatures, opening and processing incoming ballots - Grant County Election Dept., Room 203, Courthouse, Ephrata, WA.

June 1, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. Pre-Certification to determine the status of any provisional or challenged ballots - Election Dept., Room 203, Courthouse, Ephrata, WA.

June 7, 2016 at 10 A.M. to canvass the votes cast and to certify the election - Grant Election Dept., Room 203, Courthouse, Ephrata, WA
