Matt Anderson takes the lead

ROYAL CITY — The newly-formed Royal Golf Club Men’s League has gotten off to a successful start, according to the golf shop manager.

The Thursday evening individual play season was launched on March 31. Reporting may be a little behind at times or incomplete because of scheduling.

The two players in each match may alter their play date by up to six days if their schedules may not allow a Thursday meeting. Although they competition is match play, the standings are not based on wins and losses.

There is a player point system that each week takes into account gross and net scoring and other factors. After one week, Matt Anderson was the leader with 6.50 points.

Patrick Dorsing tied Andersen tied in gross score, both carding 38. He also tied Andersen in net scoring (gross minus handicap) at 36. But his player point total was 6.00.
