April 5

Report of a body lying on top of a hill at the east end of Cascade Park. The body turned out to be a large piece of tar paper used in roofing.

A man reported the tailgate and hitch were stolen off his pickup truck in the 400 block of West Northshore Drive.

A man told police an unknown suspect took some lug nuts off his vehicle in the 200 block of East Ninth Avenue.

Report of two vehicles racing east in the 1500 block of East Wheeler Road. The vehicles were gone when police arrived.

A man was arrested for racing and reckless endangerment after an officer spotting him racing another vehicle on state Route 17 and East Wheeler Road. The suspect reportedly had his 2-year-old daughter with him in the vehicle. A report will be filed with Child Protective Services.

A man and woman were detained at Walmart after failing to pay for about $45 worth of food. The suspects are going to be cited by mail for third-degree theft and were permanently trespassed from the store.

Report of a bicycle and security cable stolen from outside of a residence in the 500 block of South Canterbury Lane.

Report of a stolen vehicle from the Safeway parking lot. The Spokane Police Department later found the vehicle while it was occupied.

A 16-year-old girl was arrested for third-degree malicious mischief after damaging a bedroom door and striking it repeatedly with her cellphone. A small white bag containing a white crystal substance reportedly fell from the girl’s clothes when she was booked into the Grant County Juvenile Detention Center.

Report of a stolen vehicle in the 1800 block of East Kittleson Road. The vehicle was later found in the 400 block of Pioneer Way and a male suspect was booked into the Grant County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of methamphetamine, third-degree driving with a suspended/revoked license and three confirmed warrants.

A man reported that a dog running at large chased him to his car.

A woman reported that her husband became verbally abusive during an argument.

A woman called to report there was a person on her property who wasn’t supposed to be there.

A resort reported that there was someone living in a condo that was supposed to be vacant.

A man reported that his neighbors were fighting.

April 6

A woman reported that a vehicle was running for hours in front of a house and she could hear screaming somewhere.

A woman reportedly sped into a business’ parking lot and did a donut. When an employee spoke to her, she reportedly smelled like alcohol and said she was trying to go 100 mph.

April 5

Daniel Gomez-Vargas, 24, of Schawana, was booked for felony harassment and a Yakima County warrant.

Jorge Tamayo, 25, of Quincy, was booked on a Department of Corrections order.

Kasey Pillings, 22, of Moses Lake, was booked on a Grant County District Court warrant.

Jose Avalos, 24, of Quincy, was booked on two GCDC warrants.

Michael Butterly, 33, of Ephrata, was booked on a GCDC commitment.

Miguel Pulido, 26, of Wenatchee, was booked for violation of a protection order.
