Quincy man injured in 2-vehicle crash

| April 3, 2016 10:40 AM

GEORGE — A spectacular interstate 90 two-vehicle crash on March 22 resulted in injury to one of the drivers, Quincy’s William G. Cooper.

Cooper, 39, was driving eastbound on I-90 about four miles west of George when he lost control of the 2003 white Yukon he was driving, leading to the collision.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the Yukon went off the roadway to the right then shot across the eastbound lanes and the median to strike a purple 1995 Peterbilt with two trailers in the westbound lanes, blocking both lanes.

The truck was driven by Charles L. Griffith, 28, of Ellensburg.

Cooper, who was using a proper safety restraint, was transported by ambulance to Confluence Health. The vehicle was impounded by Quincy Tow.

Griffith was uninjured. His truck was removed by Davis Towing.

The WSP said the cause and charges are under investigation.
