OTHELLO — All who love to sing are invited to participate in the annual Christmas Cantata of the Othello Choral Society.

The 37th Christmas Cantata will be performed on Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Nazarene Church in Othello and again on Dec. 6 at the same location.

On Sunday, Dec. 13, the Cantata will shift to Moses Lake for a performance at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.

The Othello Choral Society will begin rehearsals for the Cantata on Thursday, Sept. 27, in the Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Seventh Avenue and Elm Street, at 7:30 p.m.

“Soon it will be Christmas,” the Othello Choral Society’s William Hansen said. “What is Christmas without Christmas Cantata?”

According to Hansen, there are only 14 rehearsal dates. Because there are so few, there will be two make-up practices.

“There will be no auditions except for narrators, solos and the like,” Hansen said. “Anyone in high school or older is welcome to join us.

Hansen added that it would be nice if those wishing to participate would call Bob Reichert at (509) 793-6837 or E-mail: Showhouse@qwestoffice.net.

The Cantata chosen for this year is “Light Out of Darkness.” There is a website, Othello Choral Society with far more information.
