Olive LaVerne Metcalf, beloved mother, passed away Aug. 28, 2015 at Hospice of the Chaplaincy, Kennewick, Wash.

Olive was born Oct. 4, 1927 in Enon, Mo. to Dwight L. and Margaret Nancy (Weaver) Morris. Olive married Harvey R. Leer in Nevada, Mo. and with their daughter Nancy Carrol. They moved to Prosser, Wash. in 1944, where their second daughter Joan Elaine was born. They later moved to Othello, Wash. and Olive worked at the Othello Hospital as a Delivery & Surgery Nurse. Olive and Harvey celebrated 30 years of marriage together.

Olive later married George Metcalf and they had celebrated the last 37 years together. George passed away Sept. 4, 2014. Their travels included Japan, China, Denmark, Sweden, Alaska, Hawaii and Mexico. Olive and George were members of the Moses Lake Assembly of God church for 27 years and loved their church family. Olive dearly loved the Lord, her husband George and her family. In recent years, the loving care by grandson Bob and Holly Kenner and church family allowed them to stay in their home. With failing health, in October 2013, Olive and George moved to Hawthorne Retirement Center in Kennewick, Wash.

Olive is survived by her loving children Nancy Kenner and Jon Lindeman, Joan and Ron Fox, three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, all eight brothers and sisters, and granddaughter.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Moses Lake Assembly of God. Memorials may be made to the Memorial Fund at the church.
