NOTICE OF NOVEMBER 3, 2015 GENERAL ELECTION

The last date to register online, through the mail, transfer or update an existing registration is Monday, October 5th. First time voters can register in person until 5:00 pm Monday, October 26th at the Franklin County Auditor’s Office, 1016 N. 4th Ave., Pasco.

Military voters are exempt from voter registration deadlines.

Engrossed Substitute House Bill 1449

The legislature imposed, without a vote of the people, oil spill response and administration taxes to apply to crude oil or petroleum products transported by railroad, costing $17,000,000, for government spending.

Second Substitute Senate Bill 5052

The legislature imposed, without a vote of the people, the marijuana excise tax on medical marijuana sales, costing an amount that cannot currently be estimated, for government spending.

Second Engrossed Substitute Senate Bill 5987

The legislature imposed, without a vote of the people, additional taxes on motor vehicle and special fuels costing an estimated $3,707,000,000 in the first ten years, for government spending.

Engrossed Substitute Senate Bill 6138

The legislature increased business and occupation tax revenues and excluded certain software manufacturers from a retail sales tax exemption, without a vote of the people, costing $1,449,000,000 for government spending.

The Franklin County Auditor will conduct a logic and accuracy test at 2:00pm on the 15th day of October, 2015 at the Franklin County Election Center, 116 N 3rd Ave., Pasco, for the purpose of checking ballot tabulating equipment for the General Election in Franklin County, State of Washington, to be held November 3, 2015. The logic and accuracy test is open to the political parties, the press, and the public.

The Canvassing Board of Franklin County will meet on Monday, November 23th at 1:30pm to review the Auditor’s abstract of votes for validity and direct preparation of the Certificate of Election. The signing of the official certification will begin on Tuesday, November 24th, 2015 at 1:30pm. Both meetings will take place at the Franklin County Election Center, located at 116 N 3rd Ave, Pasco.
