Douglas Bill Edwards

| September 23, 2015 1:45 PM

Douglas Bill Edwards was taken to be with our Heavenly Father on Sept. 14, 2015. He was born on June 6, 1945 in Chinook, Mont. to Raymond and Edith Edwards. He had one brother, David. In 1953 they moved to Moses Lake. He took third in state in wrestling at the Moses Lake High School two years in a row. He graduated from Moses Lake High School and attended Olympic College with a Masters degree in law. He joined the Army National Guard and served six years before becoming a police officer for the city of Moses Lake. He retired in 1979.

He married Jacqueline Flower in 1963 and they had two daughters and one son: Debbie (Black), Cindy (deceased) & Darrin (deceased). In 1986 he married Sidney Gresswell and they lived happily until his death. His other immediate family included his daughter Debbie (Dave); grandchildren Ashley, Jerid, Colby, Josh, Jessica, Derek and Brianna; great-grandchildren Wyatt, Morgan, Oaklee and Wesley and numerous sisters- and brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews.

Doug’s greatest joy was being around family and friends and his dog Maggie. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, home projects and family vacations and lots of house BBQ‘s. Family was the most important thing to him. His favorite holiday was Halloween and seeing the kids dressed up in their costumes and handing out candy as he kept a count to see how many trick or treaters he had from year to year. He also loved his Seahawks and made it to a few games and got to sit in box seats with his best friend John. Some of the best times he had in the latter years were trips to Vegas. He loved going to shows and seeing all the different sights and people.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother and two children. Doug fought a long hard battle with health problems the last two years and now he will live in peace, pain free.

His family invites you to a celebration of his life on October 10 from 2-4 p.m. at the Best Western Lakefront on Marina Drive (the Hallmark Inn). Please sign the online guestbook at www.kayserschapel.com. Arrangements are in care of Kayser’s Chapel.
