David S. Forsberg

| September 23, 2015 1:45 PM

David S. Forsberg, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away Friday, Sept. 18, 2015 at Samaritan Hospital after a lengthy illness, with family at his side. He was born in Laurel, Neb. on Sept. 9, 1920 to Emil and Gertrude Forsberg. Since his father passed away when he was only 5, he learned to overcome many difficulties and work hard on the family farm. He was proud of his Swedish heritage as he could only speak Swedish before starting school and could still remember some Swedish words, even to the last. He married the sunshine of his life, Louise Carpenter, on March 5, 1942. They were blessed with nine children. After many years of farm life in the Midwest, Dad and Mom moved to Florida in 1966 where he started a new life as a real estate broker/investor. After taking several road trips to Washington to visit two of his children, he decided to permanently retire in Moses Lake in 1976. He enjoyed spending winters in Florida until he could no longer drive that far.

David is survived by one son, Vaughn Forsberg and seven daughters, Janice (Jim) Henriksen, Cheryl (Eduardo) Aguilar, Gayleen Throop, Debbie Flaugh, Janell (Timm) Hathaway, Pamela (John) Stowers and Julie (John) Jones. David is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, one sister, Myrtle, and one brother, Harold.

David was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Louise, a son, Douglas, a brother, Melvin, daughter-in-law, Jeanne, sons-in-law, Terry and Doug, one grandson, Joshua and one great granddaughter, Ashley.

His family is very grateful for the loving care he received at Lakeview Home Care. We want to thank Penny, Leo, Kelly, Barb, David, Laurie and Heather.

Viewing will be held Thursday, Sept. 24 from 2 to 7 p.m., and Friday, Sept. 25 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at Kayser’s Chapel.
