Johnny Lee Metzker Sr.

Johnny Lee Metzker Sr., 74, resident of Moses Lake, ended his journey on Sept. 10, 2015 at Samaritan Hospital, surrounded by loving family. He was born Aug. 29, 1941 in Poteau, Okla. to Howard and LaVera Metzker. He has two brothers, Ronnie and Larry, and two sisters, Sue and Jaunita.

Johnny married the love of his life, Linda Kay Barnes, on July 8, 1960 in Union Gap, Wash. They had six kids together: Kathy, Pam, Gary, Sandy, John, and Howard.

Johnny attended Yakima Valley College to study Automotive Technologies, where he was able to utilize these skills in his work to provide for his family.

Johnny was a hard worker and great provider for his family. He worked in apple orchards throughout the Columbia Basin and the Yakima Valley until his retirement from Rowe Farms in 2005. Johnny enjoyed lake fishing, playing pinochle, going to the casino and spending time with his kids and grandkids. Most of all he enjoyed the trips to Newport, Ore. deep sea fishing with his family.

Johnny was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years Linda and his parents Howard and LaVera. He is survived by his children Kathy (Larry), Pam (Marlin), Gary (Marlene), Sandy (Nat), John Jr., Howard (Melissa), and Vonda, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family and friends.

Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015 at Kayser’s Chapel, 831 S. Pioneer Way, followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Guarding Angels Cemetery, 2595 Road L NE, Moses Lake.
