Elda grew up in Rupert, Idaho, a small farming community outside Burley. She liked being outside working with her father, brothers and sisters in the fields and riding a pony called “Old Bally”. She loved the lazy days of summer as a child swimming, riding horses, going to the circus and enjoying the annual Fourth of July celebrations. Her father was known for having beautiful horses and provided them for others to ride in special events. Elda married Jack L Draney in Burley on Feb. 11, 1940 where they farmed and started a family. Her husband enlisted in the Army during WWII and served in Okinawa while she cared for their two small sons in Burley, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on June 26th, 1958. After the war ended, they continued farming and later moved to Moses Lake, and Warden, Wash. where they owned and operated Draney Bros. Inc, with Jack’s three brothers, serving the local community with John Deere, Texaco and two NAPA Auto Parts franchises. Elda worked as a bookkeeper for Columbia Producers in Warden for 21 years. Her hobbies included quilting, crocheting, knitting, gardening, canning and genealogy. She enjoyed making warm quilts and loved giving them to new little babies, friends, and family. As a devout member of the LDS Church, she loved working with the youth and serving others. After losing her husband in 1968, she retired, and left Warden in 1980 so that she could travel and spend more time with her four boys and their families. She married Bert Noble of Moses Lake on Aug. 21, 1987. Elda is survived by her four sons, Jack Draney, Dell (Robin) Draney, Kent (Sharon) Draney and Reed (Kay Lyn) Draney and 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by a brother, Deon Fowles, of Englewood, Colo.
