Raul was born in Dinuba, Calif., son of Cleofas and Nabora Martinez. He grew up in a migrant family where they would move looking for work. They finally settled down in Warden, Wash. where he met his wife, Cecilia Martinez. They married on May 27, 1987 and together they had three wonderful children: Raul Jr., Deyanira and Devanira. He was known as a fun-loving person, full of laughter, known for telling jokes, wisdom, hardworking, family oriented, but most of all for being a happy man who loves to sing on a daily basis. He loved to travel and have family barbecues, while enjoying his new fire pit area, which he and his kids built from bare hands.

Raul worked for Five Star Farms as a foreman alongside his childhood best friend Efren Martinez, who was also like a brother to him. Raul also enjoyed his coworkers. His family enjoyed hearing about his day at work when he arrived at home. He loved many and was loved by many; those that truly knew him, knew he was a pleasure to be around. Raul is survived by his wife, Cecilia Martinez, his children Raul Jr. (Jenneca) Martinez, Deyanira Martinez, Devanira (Randy) Nguyen and one granddaughter Zaylynn Mariel Martinez, who was his pride and joy. Her sweet kisses and gestures stole his heart. He is also survived by his nine brothers and sisters: Gerardo (Lydia) Martinez, Jamie (Leticia) Martinez, Estella (Abel) Escamilla, Dionesia (Marcelo) Pruneda, Thomas (Jeorjina) Martinez, Martha (Jesse) Rodriguez, Jose Eugenio (Celia) Martinez, Yolanda (Richard) Gutierrez and Deanna (Javier) Guerrero. He also has many nieces and nephews that he loved tremendously.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cleofas Martinez, Nabora Martinez and brother Jose Luis Martinez, and in-laws Juan Valdez and Josefa P. Valdez.

He truly will be missed by his family, friends, and community. We love you, Raul (Daddy).
