Fresh News from MarDon
Early October our fall fishing patterns are in place due to shorter days and cooler nights. Our water temperatures are now down in the high 60-degree range. The cooling water instinctively makes warm water fish feed more aggressively to put on more weight and deal with the upcoming winter. Our walleye fishing reports remain simply amazing. Local residents have learned how to enjoy walleye limits routinely. At MarDon Resort we have had walleye fishers from Montana, Oregon, Idaho, Vancouver, B.C., and from all over Washington state. Our premier walleye guide Shelby Ross, of Ross Outdoor Adventures, has had amazing fishing for his customers for the past month. If you would like to catch a giant walleye give him a call at (509)750-7763 to go out on a trip on Potholes Reservoir.
Several anglers have reported rainbow trout over four pounds caught bank fishing off Medicare Beach. Corral Lake has been producing rainbows and triploids for boat and shore fishers.
Bass fishing action has also improved with cooler waters. Top water lures continue to produce “blow ups.” With our beautiful October weather there is still time for a great fishing trip with the kids. Don’t miss the boat. Call the MarDon Tackle Shop for a current fishing report at (509)346-2651.
