Ed Allan

February 27, 1937 – October 28, 2015

Ed Allan went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015. Ed was surrounded in love by his family and friends in the days before his passing. He was born to Jack and Clara Allan on Feb. 27, 1937 in Newport, Wash. and graduated from Newport High School with honors. He received his undergraduate degree from Whitworth College, and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Washington in 1963. Ed and Nancy met in Portland and were married in 1959, enjoying 56 years of marriage.

He is preceded in death by his infant son, Timothy David Allan. He is survived by his wife Nancy, son Andrew (Andy) and daughter Jeanie, as well as granddaughters Mackenzie and Logan Allan.

After Ed and Nancy were married in Portland, Ore, they moved to Ephrata, Wash. in 1953 where he started his law practice. In 1983, Ed was appointed district court judge for Grant County where he served 11 years on the bench.

Ed’s true passion was to serve the Lord through his work in his local churches, as well as his dedication to Village Missions, an inter-denominational outreach organization, focused on seeding new churches in rural areas across North America.

Ed served on the national board of Village Missions for 41 years, many of those years as the national chairman.

A celebration of life service will be will held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015 at the Bethlehem Chapel in Ephrata, Wash.
