Janet 'Jan' Marie Benavidez

April 23, 1938 – October 24, 2015

Janet “Jan” Marie Benavidez, 77, a resident of Moses Lake passed away Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015 at Wisteria Cottage Adult Care home. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 516 E. Nelson Road with Pastor Shelby Cade officiating. Following the service, there will also be a memorial to celebrate Jan’s life including a pool shoot in remembrance of her favorite hobby at Danny’s Tavern. Jan was born in Flint, Mich. on April 23, 1938, daughter of Gerald and Irma (March) Rossell. She spent the first six years of her life living in Michigan before moving west with her family and eventually settling in the Moses Lake area. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mel in 2009. She is survived by her six children, Linda (Steve) Soistman, Danny Huss, Janie Worley, Raymond (Sherry) Beavers, Laurie (Terry) Webb, Troy Swanson, and stepsons Tim Holloway and Mark Benavidez, 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren with another on the way.

Jan will always be remembered for her great sense of humor and free spirit. She was a kid at heart who loved playing pool and cranking the juke box up so she could dance to her favorite songs. She was loved by all whmo she met and she will be missed by many.
