GRANT COUNTY - A Grant County Sheriff's Office Deputy received non-life threatening injuries in a two-vehicle accident last week.

About 1 p.m. Tuesday, Deputy Allan Sleeper, 61, was driving a 2013 Dodge Charger patrol car west on state Route 262, according to the Grant County Sheriff's Office.

Sleeper was reportedly following Ronald A. Davis, of Pasco, who was driving a 2008 Ford pickup truck.

Sleeper reportedly was dispatched to a 911 hang-up call in the Mattawa area and attempted to pass Davis on the left.

Davis allegedly attempted to turn left into a driveway and the vehicles collided. Sleeper's patrol car traveled into an apple orchard where it struck several trees.

Sheriff's office spokesman Kyle Foreman said Sleeper does not remember if he activated his patrol car's siren or emergency lights prior to the accident.

Sleeper was transported via ambulance to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake.

Davis was not injured in the accident. Sleeper's patrol car was totaled.

The Washington State Patrol will be handling the investigation of the accident, according to the sheriff's office.
