Patricia (Pat) Anderson, a longtime resident of Moses Lake, Wash. passed away May 23, 2015 at her home surrounded by family. Patricia was born Aug. 21, 1939 in Tacoma, Wash. to Jack and Alice Collins. She attended school in Gig Harbor, Wash. She later attended Big Bend Community College and proudly received her GED in 1999. Her family moved to Richland, Wash., where she met Jimmie D. Anderson. They married May 16, 1956 in Lewiston, Ida. The couple recently celebrated their 59th anniversary.

She followed Jimmie to Altus, Okla. where they were stationed in the United States Air Force. Soon after, arriving in Oklahoma, they had their daughter Karen Kay, the first of seven children. While in Oklahoma, Patricia Ann was born. Their next station was to Bermuda, where Carol Sue and Donald James were born. They were then stationed to Larson Air Force Base in Moses Lake, Wash., in 1963. This would be their last station in the United States Air Force. They resided in Ephrata, Wash. Patricia worked for JC Penney's Co. for over 20 years. After retiring from Penney's she began working at the Moses Lake School District as an educational assistant. She loved to be surrounded by children. There couldn't have been a more perfect place for her to be.

After working for the MLSD, Patricia spent her time and energy volunteering in the filing department at Samaritan Hospital. She enjoyed the new friendships she made there. Due to health reasons, she could no longer continue her volunteer work.

In her off-time, she and Jimmie enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, and boating with their children and grandchildren. Snowmobiling being her passion. She also enjoyed her daily walks with her dogs, Murphy and Cassie.

Patricia became a quilter after retiring. Over the years she made some of the most beautiful quilts, always having one made for a new arrival in the family, in addition to all the quilts she made for friends. She made each quilt with so much love and determination, Jimmie often said, "She's quilting her machine is smoking!"
