Royal's April students of the month named
ROYAL CITY - Senior Daniel Rosas, junior Cesar Daniel Renteria, sophomore McDarra Von Stein and freshman Leslie Pena Garcia were chosen Royal High School students of the month for April.
Students of the month are chosen by the educational staff off of a list of nominations developed by Counselor Mark Kondo. Students are recognized for several character traits, including leadership and citizenship.
Garcia is the daughter of Angelica Pena. Her favorite class in school is English. Her favorite activity is softball.
Garcia likes tacos, the movie "Love Actually" the television show "How I Met Your Mother" and the song "All of the Stars".
Garcia is inspired by J.K. Rowling "because even though the odds are not in your favor, you should never give up."
Von Stein is the daughter of Heather Verhey and Robert Von Stein. Her favorite school subject is Introduction to Business.
Von Stein likes the move "Mean Girls", the television show "Pretty Little Liars" and the song "El Tio Borrachates." She loves softball and pasta.
Von Stein's favorite quote is: "The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday."
Renteria is the son of Raymundo Renteria and Sara Camacho. He likes weight class and biology.
Renteria likes to eat quesadillas and tacos and enjoys the movie "Interstellar". He likes to run and watch TV.
Rosas is the son of Maria and Raul Rosas, and he's all about tennis.
The favorite activity of Royal's No. 1 boys singles player is tennis. His favorite quote is "tennis is life," and Novac Djorovic, the No. 1 tennis player in the world, is his inspiration.
"Take a risk every now and then," is Rosas's advice to others.
